No Boiling Needed: Addressing Concerns About Water Safety

We have received some concerns about boiling water.

During adverse weather conditions, public water systems may experience power outages. Loss of power at water plants can cause equipment failures and loss of water pressure. The TCEQ requires systems to issue a boil water notice if pressure drops below 20 psi and if disinfectant residual cannot be maintained. Boil water notices are a precautionary practice to protect public health and are temporary. Once public water system officials conduct repairs and or restore pressure and appropriate samples have been collected, the boil water notice can be lifted.

Rest assured, at this time, there is NO need to boil your water.
